| In the information age, the quality of news translation can exert a direct influence on the international exchanges of information, language and culture. Soft news, full of the milk of human kindness and written in a lively style, can arouse readers’ sensory stimulation and their interest in reading and audio-visual programs, which produces an instant feedback. With its unique advantage, the soft news is playing an increasingly important role in exchanges between China and the world. The translation of soft news is not only a process of language transformation from source language to target language, but a course of constant adjustment to create a translated text that is more acceptable to target readers. So a translator should adopt some flexible translation methods to deal with the translation of soft news. The paper starts with the introduction of the features of soft news.
