In the turn of the1970s and1980s of the20th century, China is in its transformation period and the ideology confrontation was subtle and complicated. This thesis is to reconsider and compare two affectional films which called Until when the Leaves all over the mountain Become Red and Love on Lushan Mountain which released in1980, and study how these two different ideologies of these two films influence on the way of Chinese modernization. Because, these two affectional films symbolized two different imaginations of modernization modes:Until when the Leaves all over the mountain Become Red provided an imagination which based on the core ideology of1950s and1960s which was adjusted, at last, it was found that it cannot undertake future. Love on Lushan Mountain was originally trying to maintain the strength of CPC, ultimately, the imagination of Western-style modernization got the upper hand. This thesis starts to solve the problem that why people in the beginning of1980s preferred Love on Lushan Mountain to Until when the Leaves all over the mountain Become Red, and to research that how these two films expresses love through two love stories, mise-en-scene and the performance of actresses, especially camera language. It turns out that compared with Until when the Leaves all over the mountain Become Red, Love on Lushan Mountain supplied the unique imagination of love. Therefore, spectators in the beginning of1980s preferred Love on Lushan Mountain to the other.Until when the Leaves all over the mountain Become Red emphasized the fact that the hero and heroine could sacrifice themselves for the collective interests, and tried to moralize a youth in the film. Because of the adjustment of Socialist Realism, the goal of moralizing did not finish, and this fact proved that the ideology this film provided was useless.Love on Lushan Mountain did not raise Western-style modernization, though there were a lot of fashion elements in the film. Regrettably, the higher cadre of CPC did not maintain his authority by the ideology of CPC, but the Vision Pleasant Sensation which made by a female role in the film, and Western-style modernization stood out. Therefore, there was a struggle between these two films. We can see that when Western-style modernization was put into practice, a great many opportunities emerged while a lot of crises were brought. Because of these crises, we should return to the1980s and review this important moment.
