Study On Xu Yun’s Thoughts Of Zen Buddhism

Xuyun, one of the most important figures in modern Chinese Buddhist history, made enormous contribution on the development of Chinese Buddhism. This paper mainly through three aspects study xuyun’s Zen thoughts.First, give an introduction on xuyun’s dharma experience and practice. From xuyun’s process of practice to study the process the system of xuyun’s Zen. His practice and enlightment of karma, have important influence for his Zen formation.Secondly, from xuyun’s Zen and pure land financing concept and practice to study xuyun’s Zen. This is one of the important contents of xunyun’s Zen. On one hand, he is committed to the integration of Zen and pure land’s relationship, and fused together to form Zen and pure land meditation practice method. On the other hand, he financing of Zen, borrow to teach Zen, not giving any one party, formation characteristics of Zen and pure land parallel.The third is from xuyun’s characteristics of Zen to study xuyun’s Zen. Combination the characteristics of five sects of Zen to study xuyun’s Zen. Form xuyun’s drift Zen, other Zen method and the usual discovery etc. to study xuyun’s Zen inheritance five sects of Zen.
