In the history of Chinese opera,Li Yu is an especial phenomenon, because of his writingis not for express his feelings, but for get enough money to live families. The works whichcan get a profit, it must can sing on the stage and have many audiences, but the literatus’works are always suitable for reading. Townspeople made up cardial audiences, at the sametime, the highly educated literatus are only in much less significant place. Townspeople andhighly eucated litdratus have different interesting, so if Li Yu wants to get money from operaworks, he must supply Townspeople’s requests. On this account, when he creates operaworks, he have to adapt Townspeople’s interest, so his works take on a different style. Thestyle have obvious commercial inclination.In his works, the commercial inclination is expressed by enjoyment and Townspeople’sesthetic experience.
