"Jian Deng San Hua"(that is Jian Deng xin Hua, Jian Deng Yu Hua and Mi Deng Yin Hua) encompasses a significant position in the novel history of the Chinese classical culture which inherits the Legends of the Tang and Song dynasty and influences the "strange tales from a Make-do Studio". The past scholars had more detail study of its ideas, themes, version Status and influence and so on. However, there is little generalize on the study of it narrative. On the basis of previous research, this paper tries to use some Western narratology theories in order to have a detailed discourse and analysis of narrative arts of "Jian Deng San Hua".This thesis is mainly divided into three sections:The first section is the preface, which mainly introduce the historical status and current research situation of the "Jian Deng San Hua". What’s more, it presents the evolution of narratology and the basic narrative mode of the China’s classical Chinese novel as well.The second section is the principal part of the thesis, which can be divided into four chapters. Chapter one is the study on narrative point of view of "Jian Deng San Hua", includes diversity, variability, focus and blind spots in narrative point of view. Chapter two discusses the narrative structure of it. In terms of its logical structure, it can be mainly divided into gratitude-type sequence, advised correctional-type sequence, misunderstanding-type sequence, both follow the style and the middle contains in composite sequence and the embodiment of the narrative cycle in the thesis, according to the narrative logic proposed by Bremond. Based on its beginning and end, it has a typed tendency of structural model. Chapter three can be divided into two parts, it primarily analysis the temporal narrative mode of the"Jian Deng San Hua". Part one mainly illustrates the"timing distance" and "timing order". Part two is the focus of this chapter, which discourses"Dual structure" of the space-time narrative mode in the"Jian Deng San Hua". It also discusses both the unity and the opposites of the two worlds. Chapter four elaborates the main narrative rhetoric in the"Jian Deng San Hua", such as metaphor, irony, contrast, double-entendre, allusion and reflexive of speech so that we can have a deeper understanding of its language features.The third section is the conclusion of this thesis, which mainly summarizes the creative purposes of the "Jian Deng San Hua"and the significance of the thesis. |
