Liu Heng is the representative writer of new realistic novel. Hisworks show a lot of Existentialism subject, such as anxiety, loneliness,death, freedom, etc. Based on these topics, this paper try to explore theexistential thought in Liu Heng’s novel. The first chapter explorsbecause of loneliness and death, life is a tragedy; The second chapterexplores the basic dilemma in life, the dilemma is mainly caused by theconflict between the people, and between man and society. The lastchapter points out the method of personal salvation that when faceabsurdity and nothingness:revolt and beyond.
