In the history of development of computer-aided translation (CAT), software developers have already greatly improved the function of computer-aided translation software. They have solved many of the initial technical problems, and have made great progress in perfecting the software, which have greatly benefited and helped translators. However, it must be admitted that so far CAT. software is still unable to replace the role of a human translator and is unable to do the translation independently, so there are still a lot of problems to deal with. Nowadays, with the development of globalization, great amount of information exchange between countries are frequently required, which calls for higher translating speed and greater translating efficiency. Sometimes, the requirement is just beyond the translators’ability, even when under the help of CAT software. Therefore, better CAT software needs to be developed. In the present research, the author chooses TCAT2.0and applies it to the translation of the novel A Little Princess, in the process of which the problems encountered are presented and suggestions for improvements are set forth. It is hoped that the research can help us to further the research and improvement of the CAT software.
