The existential construction is a special kind of sentence pattern in Chinese. It is a difficulty for foreign students to study, but it is also a important sentence pattern.This is a study of the existential construction which is perspective of second language acquisition, and is also a study of the existential construction which is perspective of country, the contents of this thesis is the acquisition of preparatory Turkmen students. Based on the existing researches of existential construction in the field of Chinese language and second language researches,19preparatory Turkmen students of Central China Normal University are chosen as object of study. Five sub-constructions are defined according to their Chinese level, including1:place word+you+noun;2:place word+shi+noun;3:place word+verb+zhe+noun;4:place word+verb+le+noun;5:palce word+verb+directional verb+noun, these five sub-constructions are the existential constructions which beginners learn and use. In order to reflect the characteristics of preparatory Turkmen students’acquisition, we also choose another31primary level foreign students as a matched group, and then make a comparison in the section of analysis and acquisition order.This thesis research the acquisition of the existential construction of preparatory Turkmen students by questionnaire survey, including their error and acquisition order. The error types are summarized and the reasons of error are analyzed. The acquisition order of the existential constructions is obtained through applying the methods of Correction Frequency and Implicational Scaling. The factors which influence the acquisition order of preparatory Turkmen students are summarized from markedness theory, difficulty level of grammar, input frequency and the learning strategies of learners. And then four mainstream foreign Chinese teaching textbooks are chosen to interpret the compiling of the existential construction and analyze the advantages and shortage. Finally, some suggestions of compiling textbooks and teaching strategies are given according to the research of the acquisition of the existential construction of preparatory Turkmen students, the compiling and the actual situation of teaching.
