The Poetry And Intellectuals’ Mentality Of Han Dynasty

Although poetry can not become the symbol literary style that stands for literature characteristic of Han Dynasty, its creational tradition can be said to be constant all the time during the nearly four hundred years. Because of less utility purposes these relatively free style shows the intellectuals’true inner world deeply. So it is valuable to study the mentality and value orientation of the intellectuals through poetry during Han Dynasty. And it is feasible too. This text plans to adopt the method that contains literature, science of culture and history, to investigate the intellectuals’special fettle of survival, psychology and value in a specific historical period emphatically from the text of poetry. The mark, expect to try its best to check out the changing course of the intellectuals’ mentality in the Han Dynasty with the historical and dynamic perspective and the inimitable temperament of intellectual as ancient knowledge hierarchy, to understand the changing track of intellectual culture and the process of the evolution of literature consciousness.The full text is divided into three parts including four chapters.The first part consists of Chapter One and Chapter Two. This part focus on lasting analysis, in time sequence, divides the Western Han Dynasty into premetaphase stage and late stage, meanwhile divides the Eastern Han Dynasty into early, middle, late three periods. As people in specific historical environment, intellectuals’mentality deeply hit the mark of the specific background inevitably. The social environmental factors to influence the change of intellectuals’mentality which mainly contains:political situation, the intellectuals’ general, social thought. the living conditions of intellectual and so on. This part mainly from the external environment of times, analyze the intellectuals’ mentality of Han Dynasty. Meanwhile we will also investigate the experience of poetry writing from expressing group will to expressing personal emotions, gradually to the process of conscious in the development of times.The second part is Chapter Three. This part focus on analysis of intercommunity, mainly investigates the generality characteristic of intellectuals’mentality of Han Dynasty in poetry. This chapter is divided into three parts:social political consciousness, moral emotional consciousness. and sentimental life consciousness. Meanwhile we will discuss the direct expression of these generality characteristic in poem through The Nineteen Ancient Poems.The Third part is Chapter Four. In this part we will analyze some of the other external features that influence the formation of intellectuals’mentality of Han Dynasty. This chapter is divided into four parts:study of Confucian classics, the evolution of poetry from four-character to five-character, Taoism and immortality idea, and custom culture. We will discuss the important part that the four factors play in the form of the unusual intellectuals’mentality of Han Dynasty. And mainly research the path that poetry writing becomes individual and lyrical breaking away from the bondage of the group consciousness under the effect of various factors.
