As the fundamental part of animation film, the drama determines thesuccess of the cartoons in great extent. The importance of the drama in overallplanning is more apparent because of the complicated creating forms of cartoonworks. Chinese animation was once in her golden days. The former creatorsinsisted on the way of nationalization by innovating, getting rid of imitating andbroadening the types of animation.They created some famous works such asMonkey king, Nezha, the story of Avanti and the nine color deer. All these worksorigin from the Chinese traditional culture, so the Chinese characteristics arerooted deeply in the blood of these works, not only in drama selection but also inmanifestation.The luxuriant content of the Silk Road culture provides abundant themeresources for the creation of Chinese animation. It did bring the Chineseanimation her golden days that drawing the essence of the Silk Road culture andenriching the art forms to form its own characteristic in drama selecting, themeplanning, manifestation and other aspects. The Silk Road culture is abundantresources in itself, represents an innovation sprit, and even provides a way forculture integration. In nowadays, animation creation can’t leave the moral just inpaper, but break though the barrier of minds, dig out the culture deeply, absorbthe essence of traditional culture both at home and abroad to innovate, confluentthe international culture while complying with the development of the times andstrengthen the animation technology supporting in order to create Chineseanimation works which are both national and international in the new era withthe spirit of exploring actively and thinking comprehensively.When china switched the planned economy to the market economy in1990’s, lots of good foreign animations came flooding into. The domestic marketwas full with the Japanese cartoon characters with big eyes and slim legs.Chinese creators who were anxious to make a change turned to foreign works to absorb experiences. Consequently, the Chinese cartoon films grown drastically innumber. But blindly flowing, copying foreign experiences and not having thedetermination to abandon the previous achievement made the ill development ofChinese animation. Taking all these into consideration, the Chinese animationcreators are always seeking a way to export the fine art products and valuesviews.The paper research the relevant data, history resources, the filmcharacteristics by applying literature research method, history resources analysismethod, case analysis method and comparing transversely and longitudinallymethod. In the first part, the paper tries to explore the connection between theChinese animation and the Silk Road culture in history dimension, and thencome up to a new way to make the best use of national culture in the moment ofglobalization. To sum up, the paper begins with demonstrating the importance ofdrama, and then points the trends of theme selecting in Chinese animationcreation and put up with a new way that creating in the support of the traditionalculture. In the last part, the paper demonstrates that the Silk Road culture is likethe pearl in the crown of world cultures by analyzing the classic films andcreating a drama. As long as we recognize the principle of art creation, make theculture the base and dig out the theme resources form the silk road culture, weare sure to bring the Chinese animation another golden days.
