The Variorum Of Bamboo Slips-Weiliaozi Yanzi And Liutao-from Han Dynasty Tombs On Yinque Mountain

A number of bamboo slips were unearthed in two Western Han Dynasty tombson Yinque mountain in Shandong Province in April,1972. Since then, extensiveresearches have been made on the bamboo slips, among which Bamboo Slips fromHan Dynasty Tombs on Yinque Mountain (one), published by Cultural RelicsPublishing House, has high academic value. We choose three articles—Weiliaozi,Yanzi and Liutao—from that book to do a variorum.The thesis consists of four parts.The foreword part introduces the discovery, rearrangement and record of thebamboo slips, then briefly reviews the research situation of Weiliaozi, Yanzi andLiutao.The variorum part is the main body of the thesis. The content of variorumincludes examination and correction of characters, explanation of words and phrases,reading of sentences, and compiling and binding of bamboo slips, etc.Since Weiliaozi, Yanzi and Liutao have their ancient version, we make acomparison between their ancient version and bamboo slips in appendix1.For researchers’ convenience of looking up the record of the plate of Weiliaozi,Yanzi and Liutao in different versions, we make a comparison of the bamboo numberin different records in appendix2.
