Dream Day Wedding-Red Romantic Journey With My Painting Creation

In the history of Chinese painting, using color emerged from the Neolithic period. But the fine art circle didn’t research deeply and comprehensively about the color of ancient paintings. This paper devotes to analyze cultural connotations of using color in painting. This paper specially chose the Red Wedding custom in Han culture and the using of red pigment in Chinese painting, in order to get the principle of using Chinese pigments and cultural significance of Chinese pigments.This paper first comprehensively studied on the principle of using color, include "using color according to the five elements color"、"using color according to the object’s actual color"、"using color according to the painter’s subjective feeling" in Chinese painting, to pave the way for the main researching contents of this paper-"the color using in Red Wedding ".The most important works of this paper were having collected the types of ancient and modern red pigments, and discussed the techniques of using pigments. By contrast of the use of the red pigments of Chinese painting, significance of the red used by painters was researched. At the same time, the techniques of using pigments were summarized.In the third and forth chapters, "Red Wedding" custom culture study had been done for my graduation creation-"Dream Day Wedding" series of painting. "Red Wedding" was recorded from Ming and Qing Dynasties to nowadays. With my creation-"Dream Day Wedding" series of painting, this paper researched a variety of techniques of using red pigments.The innovation of this paper lies in comprehensively combing ancient and modern red pigments and the techniques of using red pigments, and giving focusing on the creation principle of culture first on painting creation Cultural background of the creation. I hope this paper become the start of my painting creation.
