In modern Chinese, "gei" is a relatively complex word in terms of function and usage. It can be a verb, a preposition and also be an auxiliary. So far, grammatical phenomena related to the word "gei" is always a hot issue for the field of linguistics. In general curriculums, its adjective is often separated into 3 kinds:verb, preposition and auxiliary. Structures related to "gei" is rarely introduced, that would cause trouble for foreign students in learning this word.When we teach Chinese as a second language to Vietnam students or communicate with them, we often find the error rate of "Gei" word sentence which they use is very high.Meanwhile, we notice that the present achievements about Chinese "gei" word sentence that can not meet our needs in the class. In order to make the students master various kinds of Chinese "gei" word sentence and improve the teaching quality, we collected many "gei" word sentence errors. Based on foreign students’ mother tongue, their ways of study, textbooks, teaching ways, we also analyzed the causes for the errors.
