Research In Miansi Qiang Language

Qiang language, an ancient language without any word has been disappeared gradually because of the invasion of the powerful Chinese language. Qiang language can be divided into southern and northern. In this paper, the Miansi Qiang language is the dialect of Miansi which belongs to the southern Qiang language. And the author looked for three natives on behalf of the aged, the middle-aged, the youth from Miansi stockaded village to get the first-hand voice material., then we can sum up the entire features of Miansi Qiang language via analyzing the original material of the language. On the voice, we summarized the entire voice system of Miansi Qiang language which contains consonant system, vowel system and tone system. On the vocabulary, Miansi Qiang language can be divided into seven categories. They are nouns, pronouns, verbs, numerals, adjectives, quantifiers, and other parts of speech. Meanwhile, we also analyzed Miansi Qiang language vocabulary’s word-building method, including compounding and derivation. On basis of all the study ahead, we summarized the several methods how Miansi Qiang language borrowed Chinese words at last. On grammar, the main analysis is the five marks of Miansi Qiang language which include agentive markers and patient markers, possessive markers, body markers, direction markers and causative markers. Then we analyzed and summarized the modes and significance of expression of affixes in every markers in the Miansi Qiang language. In conclusion, this paper mainly described the disappearance, the borrowing from the Chinese language, as well as some features of Miansi Qiang language.
