| Higher vocational education has been developing rapidly in China recently as the result of rapid economic development and great demand for technical talents. So does the vocational art and design education. According to incomplete statistics, more than65%higher vocational colleges have art and design profession. As the expansion of vocational art and design education, however, the educational ideas, the quality of education, and the orientation of talent cultivation have lagged behind the needs of social development. The obstacle to professional development of art and design in vocational colleges is how to reform the traditional profession, curriculum, and teaching methods to meet the needs of industry development, and how to cultivate highly skilled and high-quality talents to fit professional need.In accordance with the employment-oriented, college-enterprise cooperative, working and learning integrated talent training mode, project-based teaching is the effective solution to the deviation of classroom teaching and social practice in higher vocational colleges, which also complies with the requirements related to the vocational education development planning of China’s Ministry of Education. This thesis analyzes the professional status and teaching characteristics of Art&Design Department in Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College, and probes, both in theory and practice, how to apply project-based teaching via workshop to the professional teaching by the use of literature studies, surveys and case studies.based on the result of field visits to some typical vocational colleges, the paper analyzes the implementation of workshop teaching mode among China’s vocational art and design colleges and discusses the instructive revelation.the thesis sets forth the necessity and feasibility of talent training mode---the implementation of workshop, discusses the establishment and improvement of teaching and management of workshop, introduces teaching reform in some vocational colleges, such as,"workshop" represented by the Shenzhen Polytechnic,"tutor workshop" represented by Changsha Institute College of Art,"project workshop" represented by Liuzhou Vocational College.Then at the aspect of curriculum reform and teaching practice under the workshop teaching model, the paper illustrates the contents and ways of reform, and demonstrates some social practice projects.the paper points out problems existing in workshop teaching model of vocational art and design education and proposes important and instructive solutions in order to seize opportunities for development and improve teaching. |
