This article summarized the four dimensions about aesthetics of music in pre‐Qin dynasty:“harmonious”between sound and voice,“harmonious”between sound and heart,“harmonious”between music and ethic,“harmonious”between music and the heaven. These four“harmonious”summarized all the music aesthetics not only in pre‐Qin dynasty but in the entire ancient China. In conclusion, through Chinese music history, we can describe the aesthetics of music in one word:“harmonious”.The“harmonious”between sound and voice is about the music itself, it is the basic for the other three aesthetics of music. And it is the reason why the music can be seen as a matter of art. The“harmonious”between sound and heart means the harmony between beautiful sound and people’s natural temperament, which is carried by folk music such as“Zheng Sheng”and《Poem Wind》. The“harmonious”between music and ethic means the harmony between beautiful sound and Confucian ethics, which is dominant in pre‐Qin and the entire ancient music history. The“harmonious”between music and the heaven means the harmony between the heaven and the people. This is the reflection of the agricultural ancient China’s dependence on nature. The“TianYue”is the highest state of the common pursuit of Confucianism and Taoism, but the true meaning of the two differs a lot: the Confucian ritual theory of human nature and the air on the philosophical basis of the good of humanity as a medium, to join heaven and people, and the Music is good at expressing emotions such joint performance is the best carrier. In addition, all the living things share the same“live”with human being, which is a reflection of the air. The ancients believed that the music stems from the wind and air, so the music naturally receive special attention, but this "gentle" aesthetic expressed the moral sentiments of the ruling class, which did not care the human nature, and ignored the natural emotional needs. And it cracked down“Zheng Sheng”folk mercilessly. Taoism’s“nature”aesthetic pays attention to the nature of the world, which made up the Confucian ignorance. On the other hand, it ignored the feelings of people, therefore, did not see the sociality of the music. The paper first analyzed and evaluated the four aesthetic of music, and then based on modern music’s inanity and oddity, expressed the author’s music aesthetic idea: music should be established in art and life, it should be pure, beautiful, and most importantly for the good of human being.Through the study about the 4 musical aesthetic of the pre‐Qin dynasty, the article concluded that, we should absorb the cream of traditional musical aesthetic based on the emptiness, weirdness of modern music.
