Qin Qiong was a famous general in Sui and Tang dynasty, as well as an important role in historical novels. What’s conspicuous is that, being rewritten by so many operas and novels, Qin Qiong has been transformed a lot in literature, which is a typical feature in mass literature of ancient China.Based on the investigation of the Sui and Tang dynasties works, the paper think that the development of Qin Qiong generally abide from fervent to confucianism, joining with General demeanor, chivalry sentiment and the gentleman temperament. The writters paid their attention to different qualities, so the works about the topic showed different styles. The writers used a lot of literary techniques, such as contrasting and grafting, to make the story of Qin Qiong complete, and cause the characters become more plump. Finally, Qin Qiong becomes the most important role in related works with profound effect to the later. Among these works, the Sui and Tang dynasties novels in Ming and Qing dynasties are most famous, in which Qin Qiong begin to capture peoples eyes as well. It is depended on some conditions. First, many stories spreding at the time provides enough material for writers to creat the story of Qin Qiong. Second, the advanced political ideas and the immigrant mentality makes the writers understand the surrendering experiences of Qin Qiong. Third, the looks and the family of Qin Qiong fits for the writer’s imagination of scholarly general, and the complicated experience of Qin Qiong was helpful to create the story. Finally, the hero dreams and the responsibility of enlightment are respectively the answer of chivalry sentiment and the gentleman temperament. As the development of these works, Qin Qiong gets another identity:the door-god, which thanks to the novels. The spreading of the related works laid the foundationg of Qin Qiong in people’s imagine, and it agree with the ask for door-god just right. So the door-god reflects the closed relation between the mass literature and folk beliefs in ancient China.
