Wu Jingchao was one of the pioneers in the research of sociology of China, and he was the main copywriter in the period of dulipinglun, which supported by Hu Shi and other important scholars. However, the research about Wu Jingchao, especially his political thoughts, is weak yet, not only his workings, but what his political inclination belonged to pro-democracy camp or dictatorship camp is also hazy. According to collect and sort out Wu Jingchao’s authorships published in20s and30s of20century, my thesis organizes his main experience and further generalize several parts of his political inclinations, including the understanding about productivity and relations of production, the partition of stage of social development, how to deal with the problem of farmers and workers, the understanding about social stage, the understanding about government, and his appreciation of democracy. Wu Jingchao’s political inclination had distinguished features as follows. Firstly, he was special in the analysis of political problems with sociologist’s view. He believed in the scientific ways with comprehensive opinions and advocated points should be changed with the truth. Secondly, he tended to improvement rather than revolution, to democracy rather than dictatorship, which reflected his identification of liberalism. Thirdly, he was special in the understanding of democracy, which he appreciated but not believed in, and didn’t believe it was the only way to save China.
