College students’personality is developing more and more stable, these students inclined into adult and are in the most important period of personal consistency. The self-worth of college students not only has the affects on personal development, but also on cognition, emotion and behavior.This study contains different temporal linguistic guidance, for example "long ago, in high school period", "not long ago, in high school period", "now, in period of college school", "recent future of graduation" and "distant future of graduation", still contains different temporal line control. It means there are five different temporal conditions, distant past, recent past, now, recent future and distant future. By comparing five kinds of different temporal self-worth, I can examine the temporal self-appraisal theory in china. The study also investigates the relationship between self-worth and subjective time distant judgment, when individual recall stable personal features or unstable personal features. In addition, the study also researches on relationship between future goal clearness degree and self-worth.This study used such a scale of common self-worth and personal self-worth, which included the Self-Worth Scale for Adolescents of the professor Huang Xi ting. It conducted a questionnaire survey among 750 participants form South West University and totally recovered 715 questionnaires. There are 399 female and 316 male in this survey and the average age is 20.9. Under the condition of this study, finally got the following main conclusions:(1)The total self-worth of "recent past" was higher than the total self-worth of "distant past".(2) The total self-worth of "recent future" was higher than the total self-worth of "distant future".(3)The society dimension of common self-worth of "now" was higher than the common self-worth of "distant past" "recent past" and "distant future"(4)In past and now temporal dimension, the society dimension of common self-worth of "female" was higher than the common self-worth of "male"(5)The total self-worth of distant past of Grade One students was higher than the other three grades’ students; through four years’ college life, the individual dimension of common self-worth level descended first, then ascended later.(6)The major, as one important factor, affects the individual dimension of common self-worth of future.(7)When recall the stable personal features, the self-worth is relative with subjective time distance judgment.(8)The degree of clearness in future goal will greatly influence the self-worth of future. |
