In the 11th issue of 1986’s North Literature, Jiang Yuanlun had made comments on Childish Sincerity:on Chi Zijian’s the Three Pieces of Works. From then on up to now, both of the width and depth of researches on Chi Zijian’s writings have been developing without cease. One of the very important aspects which have been fully paid close attention to is relating leniently with tender sentiments in her works.Comprehensively investigating those researches referring to the tender sentiments of Chi Zijian’s works, the author find there are still plenty of questions which mainly display in two aspects as follows:the first is short of knowledge of the tender sentiments’intention. Someone takes a naive view that "tender sentiments" is equal to "humanity", someone mixes "relating leniently with tender sentiments" up with the "warm or kindness" themes. The second is without looking into the internal causes why Chi Zijian gives priority to relating leniently with tender sentiments in her works; it happens frequently that people often narrate the expressions of relating leniently with tender sentiments in her works superficially. More over, there are also people who query the validity of her relating leniently with tender sentiments, in their opinions, the softhearted style will obstruct the cruel looks of human life and keep down deep investigations in the evil of humanity.According to the aspects above, the author has put forward personal understanding of the tender sentiments’intention in Chi Zijian’s works. Relating mentioned in this paper refers to telling or writing on a research object of expression in the content and style which has a certain descriptive and plot, including selecting objects, constituting related materials, presenting the objects, giving the object some certain value and significance, etc. Among them, choosing, presenting and giving meaning are the three important links of narrating. The author thinks that relating leniently with tender sentiments is treating the world and life with inclusive mentality and reappearing what had happened in the specific time and space with a tolerant attitude. In Chi Zijian’s works, she focuses on the performance of the ordinary people around ordinary life; capture those easily forgotten emotion experiences. Happiness、bitterness、even death no matter what will appear in life, she narrates with softhearted languages, too great sad or great joyful emotions are rare in her works.As to the point "the softhearted style will obstruct the cruel looks of human life and keep down deep investigations in the evil of humanity", the author holds totally different ideas, they must narrate the expressions of relating leniently with tender sentiments in her works superficially without looking into the internal causes why Chi Zijian gives priority to that. So, in this thesis, the author will approach from three angles:why Chi Zijian gives priority to relating leniently with tender sentiments in her works; what are the contents of relating leniently with tender sentiments; and how she makes it. In Chapter 1, starting with her personal experience, combining with her childhood as well as influences from the father and her husband, we will reach the conclusion that childhood lays the tone and emotional experience deepens the writing of relating leniently with tender sentiments. In Chapter 2, combining with her novel works, I will show the contents of relating leniently with tender sentiments from the two aspects:suffering and love; death and hope; and highlight the tender sentiments in suffering and death. In Chapter 3,1 will approach how she relate leniently with tender sentiments in her works from two parts, one is multiple view to show the tender sentiments, the other is making artistic conception for the certain emotions deepen the tender sentiments, in which, the perspective skills can be subdivided into children’s perspective、fools’ perspective and heroine perspective.To sum up, Chi Zijian has kept a tight hand on the "degree" of relating leniently with tender sentiments in her works, and the "degree" has exactly gotten along well with our normal body temperature. As a result, in the softhearted world built by Chi Zijian, we will neither die by suffocation because of high temperature, nor catch a cold on account of low air temperature.
