Abstract:As far as we have known, there are more than six thousand bronzes with inscriptions of Xi Zhou Dynasty. It involves warning, sacrifice, conferring, rewarding, admonishing, litigation, drafting agents and so on. The rewarded inscriptions are the important parts of bronze inscriptions in Xi Zhou Dynasty. In comparison, researches on its languages and words still weaken and fall behind other parts. However, studying on the languages of the rewarded inscriptions will help us well understanding the true language as well as researches on history and culture of Xi Zhou Dynasty.This thesis will study on the rewarded inscriptions’words and special sentence patterns of Xi Zhou Dynasty. Incarcerated by the length and the author’s abilities, this thesis only study on the word using of four categories:commanding,rewarding,ruling and encouraging. Chapter One mainly introduces that the researching status of the rewarded inscriptions of Xi Zhou Dynasty,the researching materials and methods of this thesis. From Chapter Two to Chapter Four, this thesis will study three group nine rewarded words of commanding, rewarding and ruling in detail from the two aspects of syntactic and semantic. Chapter Five mainly discusses the encourage phrases of Conferring inscriptions. The last chapter will focus on the Jin Wen’s double object sentences of Xi Zhou Dynasty.Through the studies above, the author find that we have ignored and misunderstood the languages and the using customs of Xi Zhou Dynasty a lot. It is worthy of our deep researching with long time, also heart and soul.
