The women in China of undergo a new baptism in thethought and culture, which greatly stimulates their self-awarenessand self-esteem. Women and men share the same rights foreducation. In this atmosphere, it is totally possible to the women havethe equal opportunity to get more calligraphy education. Then alarge number of female calligraphers emerge and achieve a lot, someof them even can match the men calligraphers. Thus theyincreasingly occupy a certain position in Chinese calligraphy arthistory.This paper tries to study the life and art styles of tenrepresentatives of modern and contemporary female calligrapher andcompare with the contemporary male calligraphy, so as to thediscover and summarize the characteristics and development course of female calligraphy since the 1920s. This thesis is of greatsignificance for the further development and research of womencalligraphy in the future. |
