Measure word is a distinguish kind in Chinese-Tibetan word system; there’s nomeasure word in Indo-European word system. It is always accompanied by a numeralin a sentence.As we all known, the structure of Numeral and Measure word oftenmodifies the noun.However, in our daily language,it can be used as the modifier ofadjectives, and this usage is increasingly common. This structure is worthy of beingwell studied on.Chapter One is the preface of the paper.It instructs the purpose and significance ofour paper.Also,we conclude a comprehensive analyze which abstracts from somefamous linguists and their works.This part will definitely lead us to a betterunderstanding of the latter.In Chapter Two we give a description about the reference that records the paten thatcomes into existence.We trace to its Source back to Tang Dynasty or ever earlier thanit.Which is more important, we give explanation about the development of the patternof “N.+M.+A.” in Chinese through diachronic and synchronic analyses.Chapter Three we study on the selectiveness of the bilateral side which requires acollocation of the measure word as well as the adjective.Words are reliable to eachother according to the theory of semantic field.We divide measure word and adjectiveinto respective minor type, and we give the conclusion based on the meaning of theword and also from the syntax view. We try to explain as much as possible a detaileddescription of the pattern of “N.+M.+A.”In Chapter Four we focus on the syntax place of measure words and adjectives in thepattern of “N.+M.+A”.We also put forward a series of related problems,such as Deis omitted in this structure in some certain sentence.We compare differentstructure which is similar to each other.Chapter Five is the conclusion.We hope our research could do some good for theTeaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and Minority areas of bilingual education andalso for the computer information process....
