During the transitional period of Ming and Qing Dynasty, social unrest happened, and theZen circle was also in turmoil. Tian Ran HanShi, a Zen Master who belong to the Haiyun Zengroup in the South of the Five Ridges (Lingnan,岭南), was a representative of the Zen Buddhismin that era. With many famous slogans spread widely, he had a profound effect on Zen Buddhism. This research is based on the Blind Hall Poetry(a poetry book written by the Zen master TianRan Han Shi)and other texts. In the view of the culture in the Ming and Qing Dynasty,Buddhism, adherents and Escaped Zen, I will make a meticulous analysis and interpretation onHan Shi’s thought and practice. Through the analysis, I try to show how the Zen Master Tian RanHan Shi, who is later a leader of the adherents Zen Buddhists, realized his life transcendence inmany heterogeneous cultural conflicts during a transitional period. This paper is elaborated on the following several aspects:Firstly, through poetry, quotations and other documents, we outline Han Shi’s portrait in aview of spiritual history. In this process, Tian Ran’s reflection on the traditional ethical values, such as filial piety and righteousness in his early life, is the key point to our study. We find that inthe early age of Han Shi, life is full of lingering sense of confusion in his thought. Even in themiddle years, though become a monk already, he still cannot untie knots in his heart. However, after the vicissitudes of his old age, the showily mature phenomenon finally appeared, andachieved the ambition of the buddhism With Chinese characteristics, and expand the practicecombined with the value of Loyalty and Filial pietyso in the abyss of his mind, he finally surpass beyond the nation’s hatred, and advocateMahayana Bodhisattva spirits, which have a heavy Humanistic Buddhism color with his apostles.Secondly, in the text, we have used the theory explanation and the method of case analysis.First of all, from eight aspects, we summarizes Han Shi’s unique "ti-yong"(体用) type Zen thought;then, this paper combed Hang Shi’s poetry theory "not poem", and through a lot of Han Shi’spreface and colophon, poetry examples, and gatha, according to Prof. Fuwei Xun’s creation of Hermeneutics theory. We put HanShi’s "not poem " theory into an interpretation model that is acombination of "not poem" and "poem", and raise the view of the middle way of the interactionbetween Zen and poem, which I think is another type of Buddhist Poem history. Furthermore, Iraise the view that gatha can also reflect true colors of poetry, and has more dialogue means. There is no doubt that Han Shi provides us with countless spiritual wealth, especiallyincluding drunken Chan(禅醉),night zen (夜禅).But with limited ability and space, I can only givea sketchy study to observe his work. We finally find that, perhaps every Escape Zen charactershad enthusiasm towards the world in their early years. But in their career of monarchism, withconstantly fermentation, they gradually cultivated a strong compassion toward the society. In theseEscape Zen individuals who led the world to weird eyes, I confirmed a fact that it is with theperfection of life as a succedaneum of incomplete life. Through a double perspective witness ofculture negotiation and human’s general situation, we can feel the eternal vitality, an eternal charm, significance and value of history.
