| Metaphor is the expression of projecting one concept to another concept, whichunderstands and structures cognitive model of something by understanding cognitivemodel of concrete thing. And there is some similarity between the two concepts,furthermore, two concepts will not be changed during the whole process of projection.Metaphor is both language phenomenon and cognitive way. In this paper, the conceptof proverb is expurgated, while the meaning of Uighur proverbs will be explainedfrom metaphor cognitive way. On this basis, Uighur proverbs of fire are classified.According to a large number of language materials, fire is natural material in Uighurproverbs, but also means mysterious power, disaster, difficult and lust from metaphorcognitive way. |
