A Study On Annotations Of Nihuaben Novels During Late Ming Dynasty And Early Qing Dynasty

During late Ming dynasty and early Qing dynasty,Nihuaben novel is an importantnovel style, its annotations are worth studying as a whole. On the basis of annotationsof46Nihuaben novels.There are four chapters in this paper.In the first chapter,thisthesis will give a whole presentation of Nihuaben novles annotations from thereaspects: the prosperous reasons of Nihuaben novels annotations, the quantity andformat of the annotations, internal evolution. We will study the prosperous causes ofNihuaben novels from four aspects: the atmosphere of prevalent novelsannotations,the mentality of booksellers seek for profits,enormous Nihuaben novels,the stimulation of reality matches to the aesthetic orientation of novels annotations.Counting Nihuaben novels’ annotations,we will find its quantity is enormous.There are three internal evolutions in Nihuaben novels’annotations: moral founctionturn to interesting,the contradiction of obscene novels turn to fantasy,most ofNihuaben novels antholoy delete the annotations of original works. In the secondchapter, the annotations present preaching morality,interest,increasing knowledgethree characteristics.In the third chapter, the annotations of Nihuaben novels havehistorical data, ficition theories, social criticism and literary values. In the fourthchapter,the paper probes into the limition of Nihuaben novels annotations during LateMing dynasty and Early Qing dynasty. The shortage of novels annotations’ theoreticalvalue and its mediocre contents accelerate the decline of the Nihuaben novels to someextent.
