This essay chooses descriptive adverbs meaning ways of behaviors as the objectsof study, which are all from”The Graded Chinese Syllables, Characters and Wordsfor the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages(NationalStandard: Application and Interpretation)”. Based on the corpus of Chinese nativespeakers, by methods of data-driven this paper describes, analyzes and summarizesthe characteristics of those descriptive adverbs from the viewpoints of colligation,forms and semantic prosody so carefully that some suggestions can be put forward tothe vocabulary studying in the teaching Chinese as the second language.There are five chapters altogether.The first chapter is mainly about the overviewof this study. The second chapter introduces the methods of data arrangement in thispaper. The third part is the most crucial one of this paper, which describes thecollocations of descriptive adverbs, while the forth part is to apply the conclusions ofthe third part into TCSL and other applied fields such as lexicography.The final part isabout the conclusion.
