Objective:To investigate the expression of miR-133b in human gastric cancer cell lines, gastric mucosal epithelial cells in vitro, gastric cancer tissues and matched adjacent non-tumor tissue, and its association with the cell differentiation and clinicopathologic features in gastric cancer. Methods:Total Small RNA was extracted from seven gastric cancer cell lines, gastric mucosal epithelial cells, and the tissues of56patients with gastric cancer as well as their matched nontumor adjacent tissues. After reverse transcription. Real-time PCR were used to detect the expression of miR-133b in gastric cancer tissue and human gastric cancer cells, and its association with clinicopathologic features and cell differentiation were analyzed. Results:The expression level of miR-133b is down-regulated in human gastric cancer by Real-time PCR. The down-regulated miR-133b expression was associated with the cell differentiation (p<0.05) and lymph node metastasis (p<0.05) and TNM stage(p<0.05) in gastric cancer patients. Conclusion:The expression of miR-133b were significantly decresed in gastric cancer, which may be involved in the tumorigenesis of gastric cancer, and it may play a role of anti-oncogene in gastric cancer.
