| Objective To investigate not only the clinical effects oftraditional chinese medicine(tcm) in treating of YiQi QuBai methodin progressive vitiligo,but also the treating mechanism of it.Methods The patients were randomly divided into twogroups.Patients in treatment group were treated with chinese herbaltiwce a day(n=31)while others in control group were treated withhalometasone cream per day (n=32) for three months.The primarymeasure of clinical response was assessed by area scores of skinlesion,and DIQI(dermatology life quality index).Laboratory testswere doing before and after the treatment such as CD3ã€CD4ã€CD8ã€CD4/CD8ã€FT3ã€FT4ã€TSH.Results All patients completed the research.The resultdemonstrated that the total effective rate of treatment group was93.55%,compared to87.50%of the control group,which show nosignificance differences between the two groups(P>0.05).Thetreatment group had a greater improvement in reducing skin lesionsarea,and DLQI.Both treatments can modify the abnormal CD3ã€CD4ã€CD8ã€CD4/CD8ã€FT3ã€FT4ã€TSH.Side effect occurred in the treatment group by the percentage of3.22%,compared to the9.38%in thecontrol group.Conclusion Both chinese herbal and halometasone cream hadtherapeutical effect for progressive vitiligo.But the traditionalchinese medicine can do better job in enhancing the life qualityof vitiligo patients,and in reducing the area of thelesion.Besides,the rate of occurrence of side effect was lower intreatment group in this trail.The mechanism of treating vitiligoby herbal may related to adjustment of immune system. |
