Objective: Through clinical observation, to demonstrate that the method ofacupuncture combined with pushing knead patella are practical and scientific, provingthat the method is effective in treating osteoarthritis of the knee; and discussing themechanism of this therapy,to investigate the relationship between this disease andNO of synovial fluidMethods:1. Collecting knee osteoarthritis patients who treated with in themassage department of traditional Chinese medicine of Shanxi Academy from2011.1to2012.5, for a total of160cases. Using the table of random number to divide theseinto treatment group and control group, each group of80cases. The treatment groupwere treated with acupuncture combined with pushing knead patella, the controlgroup were treated with only acupuncture therapy. The two groups were treated with1time a day,10times for1course of treatment, and counting the curative effect after1course of treatment.2. Before the first treatment, and after a course of treatment, counting the clinical symptom score respectively, to compare the score of before andafter treatment in the two groups, and to observe the clinical curative effect betweentwo groups.3. Before the first treatment, and after a course of treatment, the patientsof two groups were extract the fluid from the knee joint, and then we determined NOvalue of the synovial fluid, to compare the ratings of before and after treatment in thetwo groups, and to explore the relationship between the material and this disease.Results:1. comparing the clinical symptom scores of two groups, in the controlgroup,1cases are clinical controlled,13cases are excellence, and effective in62cases,the success rate is16.3%,the total effective rate is95.0%; in the treatment group,3cases are clinical controlled,29cases are excellence, and effective in46cases, thesuccess rate is36.3%,the total effective rate is97.5%.The comparison of the totaleffective rates is statistically insignificant(P>0.05),the difference of the successrates is significant(P<0.05).2. Comparing NO values of the knee joint fluid of twogroups before treatment, the difference is statistically insignificant(P>0.05);aftertreatment, the values were respectively lower than before, and the treatment groupdecreased obviously. By comparison in a group, P<0.01, the difference is statisticallysignificant; comparing between the two groups, P<0.01, the NO value of knee jointfluid of treatment group are lower than the control group, there was significantdifference between two groups.3. Through the statistical detection, we can consideredthat clinical symptom score is positively linearly related to its NO value of knee jointfluid(Pearson r=0.581、P<0.01).Conclusion: Acupuncture and massage on treating knee osteoarthritis is betterthan the traditional therapy, this therapy is safe, economic, simple and practical, andthe mechanism may be related to the decrease of NO value of joint fluid.
