Objective: To compare the short-term efficacy and long-term survivalrate of radiochemotherapy with radiotherapy alone in treatment of cervicalcancer. Methods: We comprehensively searched the Medline、Pubmed、Recordsupplied by Publisher、CNKI、Wanfang and VIP,in which we screened25references which is published at home and abroad from January2006toDecember2012.By heterogeneity analysis and two models (random effects、fixed effect) comprehensive analysis,we concluded that differences exist inshort-term efficacy and long-term survival rate at the two methods intreatment of cervical cancer.Meta-analyses were performed by using Stata12.0software.Result: A total of25randomized controlled trials involving3200cases were included, of which1650ones were in the radiochemotherapygroup while the other1550ones were in the radiotherapy alone group. Theresults of Meta-analyses indicated that compared patients with radiotherapyalone the short-term efficacy rate in patients with radiochemotherapy wassignificantly different, with RR0.815(95%CI:0.728~0.907P<0.001). compared patients with radiotherapy alone the three-year survivalrate in patients with radiochemotherapy was significantly different, with RR0.732(95%CI:0.666~0.805P<0.001). compared patients with radiotherapyalone the five-year survival rate in patients with radiochemotherapy wassignificantly different, with RR0.797(95%CI:0.721~0.880P<0.001).Conclusion: The results of Meta-analyses indicated that theradiochemotherapy was more effective for cervical cancer than radiotherapy alone in the short-term efficacy and long-term survival rate, supportedconcurrent chemoradiotherapy in cervical cancer treatment.
