ObjectivesTo estimate the risk of Type II Diabetes Mellitus on the development of gastric cancer and lymph node metastasis by studying the clinical data of393patients of gastric cancer and investigate the possible mechnism about the effect of Type Ⅱ Diabetes Mellitus on gastric cancer and lymph node metastasis. Methods and materialsSelect the clinical data of the393patients in the affiliated Shangdong Provincial Hospital of Shangdong University from January,2011to October,2012,all were performed radical resection and the postoperative pathological resualts proved the diagnosis of gastric cancer.Analyzing the morbidity of Type Ⅱ Diabetes Mellitus and calculate the standardied morbidity ratio.Compare it to the standardied morbidity ratio of Type Ⅱ Diabetes Mellitus of China publicized by the sixth nationwide census.Divide the clinical data in gastric cancer with Type Ⅱ Diabetes Mellitus(DM positive group)and gastric cancer without Type Ⅱ Diabetes Mellitus(DM nagetive group),compare the difference of the matestasis ratio and degeree of lymph node between the two groups. Analyze all the factors include age, sex, the size of tumor, degee of differentiation, depth of inflltration, invasion of blood vessel and Diabetes Mellitus by using chi-square test.Put the significant factors in logistic regression analysis to find out these independent risk factors of lymph node matestasis and estimate the effect of Type Ⅱ Diabetes Mellitus on lymph node matestasis.ResultsThe genaral morbidity ratio ofc is15.3%. the standardied morbidity ratio is 10.6%after adjustment.Compared to standardied morbidity ratio of China9.7%,there is a obvious difference (P<0.05). The matestasis ratio and degeree of lymph node in DM positive group is73.3%and34.3%,and that of DM negative group is59.4%and21.2%.The chi-square test shows a obvious difference between the two groups. Analyzing these possible risk factors, size of tumor, degee of differentiation, depth of infiltration, invasion of blood vessel and Diabetes Mellitus have been proved to be significant P<0.05).Put them in logistic regression analysis, size of tumor, degee of differentiation and depth of infiltration could be involved in equation (P <0.05),while invasion of blood vessel and Diabetes Mellitus have no statisticalsignificance (P>0.05).ConclusionsType II Diabetes Mellitus can promote the development of gastric cancer and the matestasis of lymph node.It is the relative factor but not the independent risk factor.
