Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the clinical effects of Super-bond C&B adhesive system in fixing mandibular anterior loose teeth, in order to further provide reference for choosing proper splints in clinic.Method:1.28periodontitis patients were selected with Ⅱ~Ⅲ°mandibular anterior loosened teeth after the initial periodontal treatment. The subjects were divided into Group A (15cases) and Group B(13cases), Subjects in group A were treated with Super-bond C&B adhesive system and subjects in group B with stainless steel wire. The evaluation of two groups were as follows:(1) Splints with fracture, loosening or migration in two groups were recorded.(2) Periodontal statuses including plaque index (PI,Silness&Loe), modified bleeding index (BI, Mazza), periodontal probing depth (PD) and the attachment level (AL) were recorded before fixation and6months after fixation.(3) All subjects received questionnaire survey, including questionnaires such as cutting function, comfort and aesthetics at the fixation time and6months after fixation. Each score ranked between0-10points.2. Statistical methods:Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS17.0statistical software. Results:1. About splints: Group A:2cases broke1month after fixation.1case broke2months after fixation. The original binding materials were abraded and the teeth were bonded with Super-bond C&B adhesive system again. Group B:2cases loosed3months after fixation.2cases loosed and migrated6months after fixation. The original stainless steel ligature was removed and the teeth were fixed again.2. Periodontal statusesGroup A:The PD, AL, PI and BI were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Group B:The PD and AL were not statistically significant (P>0.05). The PI and BI significantly increased (P<0.05).PD, AL, PI and BI were not statistically significant between Group A and Group B before fixation (P>0.05). PI and BI of group B were higher than group A (P<0.05) while PD and AL were not statistically significant between Group A and Group B at6months.3. The results of the questionnaire survey:Group A:The cutting function, comfort, aesthetics at6months after fixation were not statistically significant compared with that at the fixation time.(P>0.05). Group B:The cutting function reduced (P<0.05) at6months compared with that at the fixation time. Comfort and aesthetics were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Group A was better than group B in cutting function, comfort and aesthetics at the fixation time and6months after fixation (P<0.05).Conclusion:Super-bond C&B adhesive system is an effective method to fix the loose teeth, with the effects of obtaining good cutting function, comfort and aesthetics.
