Objective:By observing the curative effects of oral ShenqidihuangDecoction and external Baoshentie4Plaster by point applicationon the patient with Chronic Glomerulonephritis (CGN),andcalculating the syndrome integral, making laboratory indicators(including urinary red blood cell count and24-hour urinaryprotein),to evaluate the treatment of oral Shenqidihuang Decoctionand external Baoshentie4Plaster by point application on thepatient with CGN,and to explore the mechanisms. Methods:The patients diagnosed of CGN spleen-kidney qi deficiency typeand qi-yin deficiency type were randomly divided into control group(30cases)and treatment group (30cases).The patients in thecontrol group were just treated with simple western programs.Thepatients in the treatment group daily took oral ShenqidihuangDecoction combined with pasting up the acupoint of Mingmen,Shenshuand Fuliu with Baoshentie4Plaster in Dog-days on the basis oftreatment in the control group, which was treated every ten days inDog-days. TCM syndrome score, urinary red blood cell count,24-hoururinary protein and other changes in laboratory indicators were observed and compared in two groups.Results:1.Comparison efficacy of diseases:In treatment group, the totaleffective rate was90.00%.While in control group, the totaleffective rate was66.67%.There was a significant difference(P<0.05) between the two total effective rates. The efficacy ofdiseases in treatment group was better than control group.2.Comparison efficacy of symptoms:The rate of treatment groupwas93.33%,while in control group the rate was73.33%. There wasa significant difference (P<0.05) between the two total effectiverates. The efficacy of symptoms in treatment group was better thancontrol group.3.Comparison of total score of TCM symptoms:Between the totalscore of TCM symptoms of the two groups, there was a very significantdifference (P<O.01) after treatment.Total score of TCM symptoms oftreatment group was better than control group.4.Comparison of individual scores of TCM symptoms:Aftertreatment, the individual scores of TCM symptoms between the twogroups in symptoms improvement of eating less or bloating, shortnessof breath or laziness of words, pale or dull looking, vulnerable tocatch cold, tidal fever in the afternoon, feverish sensations in thepalms and soles, dryness in the mouth and throat orpharyngalgia, there were very significant differences (P<0.01), thescores in symptoms improvement of lumbar pain, fatigue and lack ofstrength, face or limb edema, frequent urination or nocturnalpolyuria, there were significant differences (P<O.05).Individualscores of TCM symptoms of treatment group were better than controlgroup. 5.Comparison of urinary red blood cell count:Between the twogroups after treatment, there was a significant difference(P<O.05).Treatment group was better than control group in thereducement of urinary red blood cell count.6.Comparison of24-hour urinary protein:Between the two groupsafter treatment, there was a very significant difference(P<0.01).Treatment group was better than control group in thereducement of24-hour urinary protein.Conclution:Treatment group can effectively improve clinical symptoms ofpatients with CGN,especially in symptoms improvement of eating lessor bloating, shortness of breath or laziness of words, pale or dulllooking, vulnerable to catch cold, tidal fever in theafternoon, feverish sensations in the palms and soles, dryness in themouth and throat or pharyngalgia, which is significantly better thancontrol group.Treatment group is effective and safe in reducinghematuresis and proteinuria. That is oral Shenqidihuang Decoctionand external Baoshentie4Plaster by point application is theeffective treatment of CGN,which provides a new, safe method of theclinical treatment of CGN.
