The Medium-term Follow-up Of Total Hip Arthroplasty In The Treatment Of Avascular Necrosis Of The Femoral Head

Purpose:To investigate medium-term results of total hip arthroplasty in thetreatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head.Method:Between March2005and March2008,75primary THAs werecarried out on61patients with the avascular necrosis of the femoralhead.26patients(33hips) were followed up.18patients（23hips）for maleand8patients（10hips）for female.The mean average age is （51.77±11.45）years old (32Y-68Y) when carried on THA.The followed upcontinued60-96month with an average of75.6month. Time distributionof the perations,3cases in2005,11cases in2006,17cases and2cases in2007,2008. Seprated by the implant fixation type,15cases were bonecement type,17cases were cementless type and1cases was mixed type.Seprated by the etiology,12cases of alcoholic,8cases ofsteroid-induced,5cases of DDH,4cases of traumatic, and4cases ofidiopathic. To implant fixation type is divided into bone cement group andbiological group to analysis. Clinical outcomes were evaluated accordingto HHS as the main indicator, the secondary indicators were SF-36,WOMAC health survey. Result:At the end of the follow up,26cases (33hips) were followedup,and35cases were lost for reasons.The average HHS increased frompreoperative （40±12.09） to （89.21±5.08） points(range,36-100).“excellent” for15hips （45.5%）;“good”for18hips (55.5%)，Theexcellent and good rate100%。The HHS for cemented team (87.6±5.45)points, for cementless team (90.76±4.51) points（P=0.082>0.05）;TheSF-36for cemented team (618.91±90.46)) points, for cementless team(595.22±67.19) points（P=0.374<0.05）;The HHS for cemented team(18.23±2.05) points, for cementless team (16.60±3.22) points（P=0.129>0.05）.The statistics show that the result of the almostidentical.Conclusion:1.There are no significant differences between the two types incement and cementless.2.The result of the THA in the treatment ofavascular necrosis of the femoral head in our hospital turned to besatisfactory.
