Objective:The purpose of this research is to study the facial tissue depth of northern Chinese youths with didderent race as well as to provide data for craniofacial reconstruction in forensic science.Methods:Facial tissue depth was measured by ultrasound on a sample of113Han nationality youths from northern China.Results:Regardless of sex, facial tissue of cheek region, especially in supra-M2and Infra-M2, is the thickest compared to other regions’for Chinese youths. Results of T-test, ANOVA and Pearson’s correlation test indicate that tissue thickness at10points of females and14points of males are related to BMI significantly. And12points vary significantly between the sexes.Conclusion:Facial tissue depth is affected by many factors, such as BMI, gender, races and so on. Thus determining the resources of skeleton is useful for choosing the type of databases and rebuilt the appearances of deads. |
