Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumor inwomen today. There are about ten percent of new cancer patients annuallywith breast cancer. The number of patients with breast cancer has a tendencyto increase year by year in recent years. And the age of onset becomesyounger year by year. Therefore, early diagnosis and standardized treatment isurgent. With the development of molecular biology, breast cancer is dividedinto three subtypes: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), Luminal (A and B)and Her-2over-expression type. With the characters of poor prognosis, highrecurrence rate, and lack of therapeutic targets, TNBC has become theresearch focus all over the world. Objective: To compare and investigate the mammographic features anddifferences in Triple-negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) and other subtypes ofbreast cancer, and the value in the diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer. Methods:The clinical data of1078patients with breast cancer, those whounderwent surgery and preoperative mammography examination in the Firsthospital of Jilin University from January2006to December2010, werecollected and retrospectively analyzed. Application of SPSS19.0statisticalpackage was used for statistical analysis. Results:There are1,078patients with breast cancer, which including170 (15.8%) triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC),93(8.6%) Her-2over-expression type, and815(75.6%) Luminal type (including A and B).Among TNBC, Luminal type and Her-2over-expression type, there is nosignificant difference (P>0.05) in menstruation status, family history andpathology types (including infiltrating ductal carcinoma, Ductal carcinoma insitu and invasive lobular carcinoma). On mammography, TNBC more frequently showed with an independentmass (P<0.05), and less with calcification (P<0.05) and speculation (P<0.05),comparing with Her-2over-expression type and Luminal type. Conclusion: Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) has its owncharacteristic on mammography. Because of the lack of typical malignantsigns, TNBC is prone to misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. So diagnosis ofTNBC must be combined with other examination methods to avoid delay intreatment.
