ObjectiveTo explore PICC tip position by the change of P waves at Ⅱlead in ECG oncancer patients with PICC insertion, and judge the arrival rate of PICC tipposition and the relationship of the insertion length in different cannulation, improve the arrival rate of PICC tip position, calculate the relationship betweeninsertion length, to guide blind insertion and reduce the complications.MethodsSixty cancer patients with PICC insertion were divided into peripheral veingroup and external jugular vein group according to the the extent of the bloodvessels, and used ECG guidance in the process of the insertion, recorded andstatistically analyzed the forecast insertion length、the insertion length of the Pwave peak、the actual lien length and the arrival rate of the PICC.ResultsThe data which was collected through the intravenous ECG guidance wasstatistically analyzed after insertion, and found the arrival rate of cannulationwas higher between two group and no significant(P>0.05);There was significantdifference in the forecast insertion length、the insertion length of the P wavepeak and the actual lien length(P<0.05). ConclusionThe positioning and the direction of PICC tip position could be guided bythe changes of P waves at Ⅱlead in ECG, which can improve the reliability andsecurity of PICC cannulation. Moreover, external jugular vein may be preferredin case of poor conditions in the peripheral vein.
