Objective:This study aimed to investigate the expression of P16, Ki-67, and PCNA in gastrointestinal stromal tumor, and explore their relationship with gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Methods:IHC were used to investigate the expression of P16, Ki-67, PCNA in the specimens of gastrointestinal stromal tumor. The correlations of P16, Ki-67, PCNA to clinicopathologic features and prognosis of gastrointestinal stromal tumor were analyzed, And for the corresponding statistics analysisResults:1. P16down-regulation had a significant correlation with NIH intermediate risk and NIH high risk (P<0.05). The expression rates of P16were not related to sex, age, location, size of tumor, mitotic count, cell type and necrosis.2. Ki-67expression had a significant correlation with NIH intermediate risk and NIH high risk (P<0.05). The expression rates of P16were not related to sex, age, location, mitotic count, cell type and necrosis, but have a close relation with the tumor size more than5cm.3. PCNA expression was not related with any NIH risk group (P>0.05). Similarly, the expression rates of P16were not related to sex, age, location, size of tumor, mitotic count, cell type and necrosis.4. The expression of P16have a negative correlation with the expression of Ki-67(correlation coefficient:-0.005, P<0.05). The expression of P16did not have a correlation with the expression of PCNA (correlation coefficient:+0.650, P>0.05). Similarly, the expression of Ki-67did not have a correlation with the expression of PCNA (correlation coefficient:+0.370, P>0.05).Conclusions:Ki-67expression was increased when the gastrointestinal stromal tumor progressed which means they may related to the malignancy of tumor. The expression level of PCNA is significantly down-regulated in gastrointestinal stromal tumor. P16and Ki-67may be valuable marker for assessing the prognosis of gastrointestinal stromal tumor.
