Object: To measure Chinese people knee Insall-Salvati index withknee magnetic resonance imaging data. Assess the value of knee bonylandmarks around the knee joint as reference marks in judging the kneejoint line during knee revision surgery.Method: Measured38knee joint MRI data in38objects met theinclusion criteria with Centricity DICOM viewer software. Selected bonelandmarks around the knee joint include: tibial tuberosity, the head of thefibula, the lateral femoral condyle protruding and Medial condylarconcave,measure the distance between them and the knee line. Inaddition, also measured the width of the femoral condyle and tibial, thelength of the patella and patellar tendon, then calculate the Insall-Salvatiindex. Finally, analyzed the relationship between landmarkers and kneejoint line and conducted reliability assessment of the landmark in theform of the ratio between the various parameters.Result: The mean value of Insall-Salvati index was1.04±0.13mm, the men and women are significantly different. Distance between thelateral condyle protrusion and the knee line is an average of22.18±2.41mm, the medial condyle mark point to the distance of the kneeis an average of27.63±2.01mm, the tibial tuberosity distance from theline of the knee as22.49±2.92mm, these three markers show significantdifferences between men and women. Fibular head to the knee line is anaverage of12.06±2.22mm, with large inter-individual variation andwithout differences between men and women. The ratio of LEDC/FW,DTT/PL, DTT/FW, DTT/TW is relatively constant, and does not have thedifferences between men and women.Conclusion: Insall-Salvati index of the Chinese and Westerners aresimilar; addition, the lateral femoral condyle protrusion, the head of thefibula, tibial tuberosity and fibular head cannot be used alone as areference mark of the knee line. LEDC/FW, DTT/PL, DTT/FW, DTT/TW can exclude the influence of the size of the bone, to provide areference for the determination of the knee line.
