ObjectiveBy measuring the length and width of phalanges of young people in Tibet,to do with the height of the regression analysis and correlation to explore genderdifferences and gender discrimination, to provide reference data for forensic andanthropological.MethodsA total of1680healthy young people in Tibet (M840,F840) were included.Their left hands were taken X—ray films on posteroanterior position. The lengthand width of each Phalanges and their heights were measured. All the datawere analyzed by SPSS17.0software.Results1. As the growth of the age, almost quarter axial length, phalanx section ofaxial length, in the middle of some wide diameter value, small phalanx axis,small diameter long phalanx wide the greater value. Comparison betweengender,15years old the following, the axis long and wide diameter genderdifferences in between is not very significant, but after the age of15, basic is inmen than women, and the difference was statistically significant.2. The phalanx knuckles length, width and height is moderate or height are related, explain the higher height, these also more long, the men and women tothe ring in close section for a long and the height of the related coefficient most,do5main component and the height of regression analysis, the regressionequations are obtained.3. Phalanx of each knuckle gender discrimination order: proximal thumblength> distant middle finger length> refers to the distal section width> ringfinger proximal width> ring finger in the festival long> the ring finger distalphalanx length; with the height of the gender discrimination in chronologicalorder: height> refers to the distal section length> mean far section width> ringfinger proximal width> ring finger in the festival long> the ring finger distalsegment length, and the2group of convicted sex discriminant analysis,discriminant rate is respectively80.2%,81.5%,86.1%and86.1%, sexdetermination accuracy is more than80%.ConclusionsThrough to the Tibetan youth phalanx X-ray parameters measurement, thispaper discusses the phalanx knuckles and the age of the relationship, andanalysis of main component and the intrinsic relationship between height andlaw of multiple regression equations are obtained, and the phalanx knucklesand the height of gender discrimination and analysis of the discriminantgradually, discriminant rate is as high as80%, that of the Tibetan people heightand sex identification to provide the reference.
