| Objective:To investigate that the melatonin (MT) could protect SD rats’ cardiopulmonary tissue from the chronic intermittent hypoxia damage in the Atmospheric pressure, for a good way to prevent the body from the damage caused by snoring. And that may be important to disease prevention and development of new drugs.Methods:1, The24male,5weeks SD rats were randomly divided into three groups.(1),8rats were sent into the control group (2),16experments rats were divided into two groups avergely:experiment group1and experiment group2,and recorded the initial weight of each rat2,the control group rats wre fed with normal saline solution(NS) at1mg/kg in the normal oxygen pressure everyday18:00,and were sent to the darkroom of normal oxygen pressure everyday22:00—06:00to have a rest(the volume fraction of O2is0.21); the experiment group1rats wre fed with melatonin (MT) at1mg/kg in the normal oxygen pressure everyday18:00, and were sent to the darkroom of hypoxia everyday22:00—06:00(the volume fraction of O2is0.085); the experiment group2rats wre fed with normal saline solution(NS) at1mg/kg in the normal oxygen pressure everyday18:00,and were sent to the darkroom of hypoxia everyday22:00—06:00(the volume fraction of O2is0.085).3,After8weeks experiment all of rats were killed by snapping their spines at normal oxygen pressure, and recorded their weights, the ratio of the right ventricle/left ventricle plus septum [RV/(LV+S)],the ratio of the right ventricle/body weight(RV/BW).And detected antioxidant enzyme activity of every rat’s myocardial and lung by spectrophometerResult:the weights of experiment group1rats’ were significantly increasing than experiment group2’s(P<0.05), the RV/(LV+S) and RV/BW of experiment group1rats’were significantly lower than experiment group2’s(P<0.05),the glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) activity, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) of experiment group1rats’ heart and lung tissue were significantly increasing than experiment group2’s(P<0.05).The above indicators had no obvious difference between experiment group1’s and the control group’s(P>0.05), but the weights of the experiment group2were significantly lower the control group’s(P<0.05). the RV/(LV+S) and RV/BW of experiment group2were significantly increasing than the control group’s(P>0.05). The another indicators had significantly difference between experiment group2’s and the control group’s.Conclusion:the chronic intermittent hypoxia could damage SD rats’ heart and lung.
