With the fusion development of information technology and life sciencetechnology, medical digitization has become an inevitable trend of medicalmanagement. The research on disease-classification-based structuralization ofmedical knowledge is the foundation of medical information standards, and also thepremise of medical digitization. The study was emphasized on the disease classification system and models, trying to provide reference for medical digitization, decreasing cost and increasingquality. First, we constructed a layered model of Medical Service System, establishedthe Medical Knowledge Framework, and found that disease knowledge is the core ofmedical knowledge system. Secondly, by comparing the exitsting diseaseclassification systems, we realized that the disease classification system is amulti-level and multi-dimension system. After that, we structured the diseaseknowledge, and established the Knoledge-Based Disease Classification System. Finally, according to the former research, we designed the Disease-basedComputer-aided Coding System as a tool to manage disease knowledge. The objective of Knowledge-Based Disease Classification System is medicalrecords, information retrieval and statistics, supporting clinical activities and hospitalmanagements. Disease is its classification object, while Topology, Etiology,Morphology, Function, and Human are the indices. It also has a complete and flexiblecoding structure. This system is the core of medical knowledge structuralization. Itwill provide standards for the future treatment process control, medical resourceallocation, service operation management, and decision support system.
