Assessing Psychoacoustics Characteristics And Psychological Problem Of Tinnitus Patients With Or Without Hearing Loss

Objective:To investigate the psychoacoustic characteristics and psychological problem of tinnitus patients with hearing loss or normal hearing.Methods:Six hundred and thirteen tinnitus sufferers were divided into two groups. All the patients were undertook pure tone test and tinnitus test, and filled Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI)、Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAA)、Self-rating Depressive Scale (SDS).Results:The highest percentage of tinnitus resulted in the decades>60with hearing loss. There is a significant deffrence in age between the twe groups. Tinnitus patients with hearing loss are older than tinnitus patients with normal hearing. There is no significant deffrence in the tinnitus severity between the twe groups. Tinnitus loudness of tinnitus patients with normal hearing are louder than tinnitus patients with hearing loss. The time of residue inhibition of tinnitus patients with normal hearing are longer than tinnitus patients with hearing loss. There is a significant deffrence in Masking curves between the two groups.The psychological problem of tinnitus patients with hearing loss based on the principle of depressive disorder. The psychological problem of tinnitus patients without hearing loss based on the principle of anxiety disorder.Conclusion1.Hearing loss and age are importante correlative fact of tinnitus. There is no significant correlation between tinnitus severity and hearing loss.Tinnitus’impact on life is a psychological problem. So we must take tinnitus’psychological treatment seriously.2.There is a significant deffrence in tinnitus loudness、time of residue inhibition and masking curves between the twe groups,It hints that the effect of masking in tinnitus patients with normal hearing is better than it in tinnitus patients with hearing loss.3.The psychological problem of tinnitus patients with hearing loss based on the principle of depressive disorder. The psychological problem of tinnitus patients without hearing loss based on the principle of anxiety disorder.There is direction significance to choose treatment for tinnitus patients.
