Objective: To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea(CSFR) under endoscope. Methods:Clinical data of twenty cases of cerebrospinal rhinorrhea treated by endoscopic approach from June,2008to June,2009were reviewed. Aetiology included accidental t rauma (3), surgicalt rauma (7), idiopathic (10), intracranial hypertension(5), intracranial infection(6).The patients are between13to73years old. All patients were scanned by computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging and confirmed by endoscopic test Results:We performed intranasal endoscopic repair in19patients. All repairs were successful at the first attempt with a mean follow up of20months(6-42mouths).One patient had multiple trentment because of failure. All defects of skull base detected by computed tomography and vent riculography were confirmed in the operation. Conclusion: Endoscopic repair of cerebrospinal rhinorrhea can be an effective method. Combined with lumbar puncture, lumbar drainage or perpetual V-P shunt, endoscopic approach is helpful for intracranial hypertension complicated by CSFR. |
