Objective:Discuss and compare the curative effect, the complications, and the prospect, the minimally invasive treatment (Manipulation under fluoroscopy, percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation and external fixation) with the traditional Chinese medicine treatment and the operative treatment (the open reduction with internal fixation) for Sanders type II calcaneal fractures.Methord:This study retrospectively analyzed patients from September2010to March2011, Xiangyang City Chinese Medicine Hospital, were treated clinically diagnosed as calcaneal fractures. According to the diagnostic criteria, the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, women in this study included cases of12,23were men, aged between20to50years old. According to the different methods, the treatment will be divided into two groups:group A he minimally invasive treatment (Manipulation under fluoroscopy, percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation and external fixation) with the traditional Chinese medicine treatment group, Group B the operative treatment (the open reduction with internal fixation) group. Compare with the calcaneal axial, lateral view, measured and recorded the calcaneal facet height, the BOlher corner of the calcaneus at the preoperative, the postoperative and one year after the operation. Then compare the pros and cons of the two kinds of treatment in fractures reset by the dates. Observed the two groups of patients with or without the complications and the fracture recovery situations after one year’s investigation, and evaluated by the modified Rowe calcaneal fracture score at1-year follow-up. Using the SPSS statistics v19.0software for analysis. With no significant difference in age, gender and fracture type, the two groups of patients are comparable. Results:Group A in all cases had one pin site infection, and there was no fracture displacement, no Kirschner wire loosening in3months and reach the healing standards. Group B in all cases, the incisions were primary healing,no infection and necrosis,no fracture displacement, no internal fixation failure.1.The days&the coast in the hospital. Compared the average days in hospital between the group A and group B, the dates had statistically significant by t test (p<0.05). Compared the average hospital cost between the group A and group B, the dates had statistically significant by t test (p<0.05).2. The situation of the fracture reduction. Compared the BOlher corner of the patients in group A between the preoperative and the postoperative, the dates had statistically significant (p<0.05); compared the BOlher corner of the patients in group B between the preoperative and the postoperative, the dates had statistically significant (p<0.05). Compared the BOlher corner of the patients in group A between the postoperative and the one year after the operation, the dates had no statistically significant (p>0.05); compared the calcaneal facet height of the patients in group A between the postoperative and the one year after the operation, the dates had no statistically significan (p>0.05) Compared the BOlher corner of the patients in group B between the postoperative and the one year after the operation, the dates had no statistically sign if icant(p>0.05); compared the calcaneal facet height of the patients in group B between the postoperative and the one year after the operation, the dates had no statistically significant (p>0.05).3. The situation of the fracture recovery. Both two groups of the patients had evaluated by the modified Rowe calcaneal fracture score at1-year follow-up. In the patients of group A, there are5excellent cases,8good cases,3fair cases and0poor cases,81.3%of the good rate. In the patients of group B, there are4excellent cases,10good cases,4fair cases and1poor cases,73.7%of the good rate. There is no statistically significant (p>0.05).Conclusion:According to this study, there is no statistically significant in the situation of the fracture reduction and the fracture recovery between the minimally invasive treatment (Manipulation under fluoroscopy, percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation and external fixation) with the traditional Chinese medicine treatment and the operative treatment(the open reduction with internal fixation) for Sanders type II calcaneal fractures. So for the simple calcaneal fractures, the minimally invasive with the traditional Chinese medicine treatment can have satisfactory fracture reduction, strong fixation, less damage in local soft tissue, functional exercise earlier, no second operation, less coast, worthy of clinical application.
