Chronic Atrophic Gastritis (CAG) is a kind of digestive system disease with the principal pathological characteristics of the inherent glandular atrophy or even disappeared that’s been caused by the repeated damage to the gastric mucosal which can lead to symptoms such as upper abdominal pain, bulging nausea, loss of appetite etc. The main pathological manifestations are the extensive putrescence of the gland of gastric mucosa, thinned or thickened of the gastric mucosa, or less secretion of the gastric acid, and is also often accompanied by the intestinal metaplasia or dysplasia.This essay discussed the chronic atrophic gastritis in both western and Chinese field of medicine from its pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and other aspects of discourse according to the large amount of reference resource. And from which to further discuss Professor Zhou’s treatment with three typical CAG patients to come up with the summarization on Professor Zhou’s method treating CAG.Professor Zhou uses the tonifying method to cure CAG patients and it showed such magnificent effect, either its clinical symptoms gradually disappeared, or from the Gastroscopy, pathological examination view, it all showed a huge difference from before and after. Professor Zhou has made a significant contribution on the treatment of CAG using Chinese medicine.
