Objective:. The aim of this study is to investigate the expression of BDNF and BMPR1A in HCC specimens and non-cancerous adjacent liver tissue, in order to find out the relationship between BDNF、 BMPR1A and clinical-pathological characteristic of HCC, and to find out the relationship between BDNF and BMPR1A and prognosis of HCC.Methods:Surgery and pathology records were reviewed, and50cases with HCC who were treated by operation at the Department of General Surgery of The second XiangYa Hospital. The50cases were measured the expression and distribution of BDNF and BMPR1A in HCC specimens and in the non-cancerous adjacent liver tissue by immunohistochemistry. Then the relationship between BDNF and BMPR1A expressions with clinical pathological features were explored. The50cases had the detailed data of follow-up.Results:1.The positive-expression of BDNF in HCC was74.00%(37/50) while16.67%(5/30) in the non-cancerous adjacent liver tissue, There Was significant difference between the two groups (χ2=24.71, P <0.05); The positive-expression of BMPR1A in HCC was64.00%(32/50) while13.33%(4/30) in the non-cancerous adjacent liver tissue, There Was significant difference between the two groups (χ2=19.44, P<0.05)。2, The expression of BDNF in HCC were positively correlated with pathologic differentiation (χ2=5.534, P=0.019), tumor size (χ2=11.191, P=0.001) and metastasis(χ2=8.420, P=0.004), negatively correlated with Sex (χ2=0.104, P=0.747),Age (χ2=0.02, P=0.968), HBsAg(χ2=0.078, P=0.780), Liver Cirrhosis (χ2=0.390, P=0.532), Portal vein tumor thrombus (χ2=0.211, P=0.646), AFP (χ2=0.078, P=0.780); The expression of BMPR1A in HCC were positively correlated with pathologic differentiation (χ2=8.631, P=0.003), tumor size(χ2=4.188, P=0.041)and metastasis(χ2=7.697, P=0.006), AFP(χ2=0.973, P=0.026); negatively correlated with Sex (χ2=0.039, P=0.844),Age (χ2=0.198, P=0.656), HBsAg (χ2=0.046, P=0.830), Liver Cirrhosis (χ2=0.002, P=0.96), Portal vein tumor thrombus (χ2=0.001, P=0.979)3. Use Kaplan-Meier survival analysis found that The mean age in the BDNF-positive group and negative group Was(33.872±3.899) and (18.729±2.958) month respectively, There Was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05), The1,3-year survival rate of BDNF-positive group were56.25%and25%,respectively.The1,3year survival rate of BDNF-negtive group were77.77%and44.44%,respectively.There Was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).The mean age in the BMPR1A-positive group and negative group Were (30.981±2.992) and (20.548±2.522) month respectively, There Was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05), The1,3-year survival rate of BMPR1A-positive group were66.67%and16.67%,respectively.The1,3-year survival rate of BDNF-negtive group were72.72%and36.36%,respectively. There Was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).Use log-rank test univariate analyses revealed that pathologic differentiation, tumor size, metastasis BNDF and BMPR1A were significant relate with surviva (P<0.05),in a multivariate COX model, pathologic differentiation, tumor size,BNDF and BMPR1A were independent prognostic factor. Conclusions:The expression of BDNF and BMPR1A in hepatoeellular carcinoma specimens was higher than non-cancerous adjacent liver tissue; The expression of BDNF in HCC were positively correlated with pathologic differentiation, tumor size and metastasis, The expression of BMPR1A in HCC were positively correlated with pathologic differentiation, tumor size,AFP and metastasis, suggests that they may play important roles in the oncogenesis and progression of hepatoeellular carcinoma. Expression of BDNF and BMPR1in HCC is predicating the prognosis of the patients.
