Because of the lack of information and the confusion of myths and legends, thedescription of the medical history of the times before Huang Di Nei Jing is far from clear.In view of this, this article collected much information about history, TCM and Taoism,analyzed the relationship of the witch, alchemist, Taoism and TCM, as well as the innertransmutation relations from the longitudinal and horizontal perspective.As a conclusion, the studies suggest that there was the phenomenon of witchcraftmixed with medicine in primitive society and doctors’ duties shouldered by the witch atthat time. When they were listed in different functional systems in Zhou Li, witch anddoctors began to differentiate. During the Warring States and the Qin and Han dynasties,alchemists and alchemy boarded the stage of history and the actions of Qiuxian andseeking elixir became very popular. As one of the Fangji, medicine was manipulated inthe hands of the alchemist. Huang Di Nei Jing is a Huang-lao Taoism writings. Manydoctors in the history were Daoyi. There were complex relationships among Taoism,alchemist and witch. For example, both Taoism and alchemist can be traced back to thewitch. To the Eastern Han Dynasty, the three together participated in the formation ofTaoism. The Taoist followed the medical medicinal knowledge of the witch doctor andalchemist, became an important part of Daoyi.
