Objective Observation to explore the interventional effect and mechanism of differentdoses of Astragalus on diabetic rat central nervous system functions. Methods Weestablished diabetic rat model based on the theory that diabetes was Qi deficiency-orientedand oxidative stress was involved in diabetes central nervous system lesions. Aftertreatment by different doses of Astragalus which functions to invigorate Qi, variousindicators of electrophysiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry and molecular biologywere detected. Results Astragalus can lower blood sugar, reduce the level of glycosylatedhemoglobin, increase SOD levels, reduce the content of MDA and8-OHdG, and inhibit theapoptosis of brain stem neurons, and significantly improve diabetic rat central nervousdamage induced by hyperglycemia and oxidative stress. Conclusion Astragalus cansignificantly improve the central nervous system function in diabetic rats, to reduce thecentral nervous system damage, the mechanism may be achieved by lowering bloodglucose and anti-oxidation...
